entry requirements

Passports
You will need a current passport to visit Costa Rica. If you do not already have a passport or if your passport is out of date, you will want to start the process of obtaining or updating your passport as soon as possible due to possible delays.

U.S. Citizens can visit the official State Department travel information website to download passport application forms and find information about obtaining a passport at: http://www.travel.state.gov/passport_services.html

Canadian travelers can obtain passport information at: http://www.ppt.gc.ca/

Other nationalities should be able to find passport information on their country's official government website. If you are currently living away from your country of citizenship, you may visit your nearest embassy for assistance. All other entry requirements and the terms of entry will vary based on your country of citizenship and are subject to change along with the political climate and security precautions surrounding international travel.
