The sun soaked
Northern Pacific Region is largely known as home to many of the more
popular beaches in Costa Rica. Tamarindo, Playa Conchal, Playa del Coco
and the Bat and Catalina islands are popular tourist draws. From surfing
to deep sea fishing these beaches host a number of sea side activities.
Liberia, a town found a ways inland, hosts the country’s second
international airport: Daniel Oduber.
Just as Costa Rica
is a country of contrasts, so it goes in this region where tourists
on the beach meet the traditions of the cattle rancher who tend nearby
pastures. This region is also home to yet another of Costa Rica’s
famous volcanoes – Rincon de la Vieja. This volcano boasts it’s
own national park that showcases the area’s thermal wonderland
of bubbling mud pots, fumaroles and hot springs.
