The Central Pacific
Coast is perhaps one of the busiest and most visited areas in the country.
This could be attributed to the fact that it hosts a major port in the
town of Puntarenas and offers a variety of beach and wildlife settings
to explore.
Surfers can enjoy
challenging waves in Jaco while those in search of an eco experience
might be better suited by the rainforest of the Carrara Wildlife Refuge
or Curu Wildlife Refuge. For those who enjoy days on the water, the
gulf of Nicoya is sprinkled with deserted islands and sparkling blue
waters great for snorkeling.
