Mountain bike/ fly down the side of the of the Irazu
volcano, go canyoning, spend 3 days rafting and paddling for your life,
hike then soak your tired bones in Arenal's hot springs. After zipping
through the Cerro Chato canopy take a leap of faith off a bridge and

Day
1
Arrival in Costa Rica. IAU adventure leader will meet your flight and
shuttle to your hotel for tonight. Trip orientation and welcome dinner
with your guide.
Day 2
Mountain bike adventure from the Irazu Volcano (crater 3400m) to the
town of Turrialba (600m). Route includes typical backcountry roads,
highland villages, coffee and sugar cane plantations and spectacular
panoramic views.
Day 3
Canyoning into the nearby La Marta Reserve. Hike, crawl, swim and eventually
rappel over 8 waterfalls not accessible by any other means. Enjoy the
day playing deep within an isolated rainforest area.
Day 4
Aa extraordinary whitewater rafting adventure down the world-famous
Pacuare River (class 3-4 rapids), considered one of the most scenic
tropical river canyons in the world! Return to the lodge to rest up
for tomorrow's even bigger challenge...
Day 5
The final challenge: Paddle down the class 4+ rapids of the Pascua section
of the Reventazon River. Constant big action includes renown rapids
such as 'north sea', 'little horendous' and 'the abyss'. If we make
it, from the take-out we'll continue west towards the ever-erupting
Arenal Volcano.
Day 6
Horseback ride and Canopy Adventure into a private rainforest preserve
on the foothills of the Cerro Chato Volcano. Zip across cables high
up in the canopy of the jungle, stopping at platforms to observe the
flora and fauna. Also visit the Fortuna Waterfalls. Enjoy a relaxing
evening enjoy while soaking in the hot springs at the base of the volcano,
while observing the volcano activity from the perfect vantage point.
Day 7
Leisure morning, eventually returning back to San Jose. On route, stop
for your final test: Bungee Jump off the old Rio Colorado Bridge. Afterwards,
head into San Jose for a farewell dinner and 'fiesta' with your IAU
guide.
Day 8
Shuttle to the airport for final departure.
